Sleeves, Cartons and Windows That Fit the Bar

Handmade bars vary by a few millimetres between batches, so a template box either bulges or slides. We build the dieline around your actual poured dimensions with a tolerance that absorbs normal batch variation, which keeps the front panel flat and the box square on shelf.

Belly bands and open sleeves suit rustic, cold-process ranges where customers want to see and smell the bar. Full tuck-end cartons protect better for shipping and stack cleanly for retail. Window cut-outs, with or without film, sit between the two.

Board Choices That Handle Oils and Humidity

Soap is not a dry product. Superfatted and essential-oil-rich bars can mark plain board over weeks in a warehouse. We recommend a grease-resistant coating or a coated inner face for those formulas, and avoid stocks that wick oil into the print area.

Uncoated kraft remains the most popular look for natural ranges, and it works well when the bar is wrapped or the coating is specified correctly. SBS with a matte varnish is the cleaner option for clinical, dermatology-style lines.

Label Copy, Claims and Everyday Legibility

Ingredient lists, weight, allergen notes and any organic or cruelty-free certification marks need real estate on the back panel. We lay those out so the certification logos keep their required clear space and the ingredient text stays readable on kraft, where contrast is lower than most designers expect.

For ranges, we keep the layout fixed and change only the colour block and scent name, so a shelf of eight bars reads as one brand instead of eight separate products.
