Without film, the opening needs a little more thought. We keep the cut smaller than a filmed window would be and place it where the bar sits proudest, so the soap fills the opening instead of showing shadow behind it.

For brands that want dust protection but no plastic, NatureFlex compostable film is the middle ground. It looks like cellophane, patches the same way, and breaks down in a home compost bin.
