We mount 0.35mm PET behind the aperture, heavier than the film used on folding cartons, because a rigid lid flexes less and a thin film shows every ripple against the wrap edge.
The aperture is kept 25mm clear of the magnet positions. Cut too close and the lid loses the stiffness it needs to snap shut squarely.
